CMS Online includes three types of Assessor user permissions. All three can be assigned to different users in a single instance, or independently for a single instance, based upon business needs.
A brief summary of the permissions types is below, with a short video explaining the permissions and some recent updates to Assessor options in CMS Online.
The three Assessor types are:
- Assessor - Unrestricted: can select and can assess any user/competency role in the instance. This user type may access the Assessor Assignment functionality, where they can assign and remove assignments from other assessors. In addition, this Assessor type may Auto-Assess any user, either from the Auto-Assess page or within an individual's assessment.
- Assessor - Restricted: is assigned by an administrator to have access to a specific user population. This assessor type can access the same functions as an Assessor - Unrestricted – for the assigned population only.
- Assessor - Assigned: (labeled Restricted Assessor prior to CMS version 4.31) can assess directly-assigned user/competency roles only. This Assessor may access Auto-Assess functionality from an individual's assessment.
If a user is assigned all three types of Assessor permissions, the highest level permissions will be the default. For example, when assigned Assessor - Unrestricted and Assessor - Assigned, the user will have full Assessor - Unrestricted access.
