Competency statements are written to build from one proficiency level to the next. You must meet the minimum requirements for a level before CMS Online will give credit for statements checked at the next level.
For example, if you check one statement out of five at Level 1, and then check four out of five statements at Level 2, your level will be recorded as 20% (displayed as .2 in the system) of Level 1 because you have not yet reached the minimum at Level 1.
The minimum requirements are established by your organization at the implementation of the competency project. The default level requirements are:
- Level 1: 80%
- Level 2: 80%
- Level 3: 100%
- Level 4: 100%
