Content Developers can specify different methods learners may use to record course completion. This is managed at the individual learning event level.
All IHRDC e-Learning will update completion status automatically, when launched from CMS Online.
The Completion Method dropdown provides 3 options:
- Normal: typically means that users may upload their own course completion evidence, but may not change a completion status
- Checkbox Completion: This allows learners to use a simple checkbox from the learning curriculum summary page. For learning linked to curriculum, mandatory training or competency plans, learners may select a completion date and upload evidence from the course detail page
- Acknowledgement - 3rd party: when a learner clicks the launch icon in a course, they can select any other CMS user to acknowledge their completion of a learning event, and may optionally attach evidence
To enable one of the methods above, navigate to course detail page and select Checkbox Completion from the dropdown in the Completion Method field.
When a learner accesses the learning event via the Learning Curriculum page, the checkbox option will display.
To enable Acknowledgement - 3rd party, navigate to course detail page and select it from the dropdown in the Completion Method field.
When a learner clicks the launch icon, they type in an email address for another CMS Online user who can acknowledge their participation in a course, add the date the course was taken and submit.
The 3rd party will receive an email notification asking to click a link to confirm the learner's course completion.
